my credentials.
I am licensed to practice chiropractic in Michigan, and have been practicing for over 15 years. Most of my experience is in private practice, but I am also a past provider for the Grand Valley Health Plan Integrative Holistic Health Program. I have a bachelors degree in Biology from Albion College here in Michigan. I have a doctoral degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic in South Carolina.
my approach.
My specialty is advanced, hands-on techniques that promote improvement in BioMechanics -- which is the structure and function of our body's musculoskeletal system. I use a variety of chiropractic adjusting techniques and manual tissue therapy to accomplish this. I evaluate and address the entire joint system, not only the spine joints, but also the joints of the shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee, ankle, foot -- the entire body. If there are any techniques you prefer or respond better with, we will discuss this during your first visit. If there are any areas of your body you don't want worked on or any techniques you don't like, I will not do them. I take a conservative approach to my care plans and I will not ask you to come in for a high number of visits. The average initial care plan is 6-8 visits over 4-6 weeks. Some cases require more, and some require less. When your initial complaint is better, you are done with care. Then it is your choice to continue with regular wellness visits or not.
my philosophy.
I take a conservative, specific, results-based approach to care. Chiropractic care works. It can be an effective tool for your health, but it is also not the answer to every problem out there. So with this in mind, if you are not getting results with the problem you came to see me for, I will refer you to wherever is necessary to solve your problem (your medical doctor, a physical therapist, a massage therapist, etc). If you are not responding appropriately to the care and/or not getting the results we both want, I will not keep adjusting you over and over again.
about me.
I grew up in Detroit, MI. I went to high school outside the city at Warren De La Salle Collegiate. I played basketball for Albion College, which is in the same league as local Alma College, and my senior year we won the school's first conference championship in 30 years. My dad was a Detroit cop for 32 years. My mom worked in retail for many years. I have an older brother and a younger sister. I practiced in Grand Rapids, MI for 10 years prior to practicing here in good old Mount Pleasant for the last 5 years. I moved here to be closer to my parents, who relocated to Harrison when my dad retired from the force. My partner Ashley and I opened Broadway Wellness in 2023 (read her bio below).
